Ever since the debut of Kim Jones’ first collection for Dior Homme back in June of this year, fashion enthusiasts have been impatiently waiting for the release of a follow-up campaign for the Spring/Summer 19 capsule.
The time has finally come for Dior to finally launch an ad campaign for Kim Jones’ debut collection. Considering Jones is known for loving to surprise his audience with unique creations and collabs, together with the male division of the brand, they decided to book the Crown Prince of Denmark Nikolai as one of the campaign models.
Nikolai in the campaign poses alongside models like Valentin Caron, Malick Bodian, Romaine Dixon and Lukas G. The ambiance of the campaign is decorated with flower crafted figures that were specially designed and created for the campaign by American artist KAWS.
The campaign was shot by a fashion photographer Steven Meisel and apart from the runway looks also incorporates pieces from the capsule collection collab of Jones and KAWS, namely luxurious sportswear embroidered with KAWS-like cartoon bees.
The creative designer Jones could not hold in his excitement about the collab and release of both of the collections this upcoming December.
“I’ve always wanted to work with Kaws, I think he’s super chic and also his work speaks to a lot of people.”
“I wanted the advertising to reflect the spirit of the men’s summer show and the beauty of Dior.”
The collections will officially hit the stores in December. However, a pre-lease of the Spring/Summer collection will be available in Japan, in the Shinjuku’s Isetan department store pop-up.
