Luka Modric, a Croatian football player who also plays as a midfielder for one of the most loved and successful clubs in the world, Real Madrid, is a really great and important player. We all saw that during the World Cup in Russia in which Modric was a non-replaceable part of the national team of Croatia. From the personal skills to an astonishing teamwork, Modric is a huge reason why Croatia made it so far – to the finals. There, they have lost to France, but in millions of fans’ eyes, they were the winners.
Thanks to this year’s World Cup, Luka Modric could show the whole world how great he is and it worked out great for him… That’s why he won the World Cup’s Golden Ball, which confirmed the Croatian’s skills.
While his Golden Ball award sits at home, Luka Modric can find a pretty spot for another one.
Just a few days ago, a magnificent and worldwide known award Ballon d’Or was given to a player who performed the best during the year. This year, it wasn’t Messi or Ronaldo who took the prize home, but the same player who fought hard during the World Cup, Luka Modric. After 10 long years, during which the Ballon d’Or was given to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, the streak is over.
Modric, who won the Ballon d’Or’s first place, collected the award in Paris. There, he met with a second-place winner Cristiano Ronaldo, a third-place winner Antoine Griezmann and other winners such as women’s award winner Ada Hegerberg and Kylian Mbappe, a French young player who won an award for the best player of the year under the age of 21.
We would love to congratulate Luka Modric for not only the award but for the whole year’s great results he could achieve by working hard on himself.
