Mikaela Shiffrin’s Unbelievable Killington Cup Journey! An Astonishing Win By Half A Second That Secured Shiffrin’s Hat-Trick

The United States has got a new golden girl and a queen of skiing, Mikaela Shiffrin! During the Killington Cup, a competition based in the US, Shiffrin surprised the world by securing a hat-trick which gave her a leading position she most definitely enjoys.

Because the competition was held in the US, Shiffrin had a huge support from her fans, whose wish was to see the young slalom skier win. But before winning, a huge challenge awaited her. That was to beat the world’s elite skier, Petra Vlhová from Slovakia.

This is how this year’s Killington Cup looked like.

They both fought each other already. In the Finnish resort of Levi, Shiffrin couldn’t win against Vlhová, but that changed during the Killington Cup. There she came prepared for the battle and ready to take the win, which she took in the end.

Still, it was not an easy fight as Shiffrin beat Vlhová by only a half second. Now, they both share leading positions and Shiffrin knows that Vlhová is still a huge threat to her.

If I want to beat Shiffrin, I need two good rounds, and I failed in that today,” Vlhová said after the competition.

According to Shiffrin’s words, she could hear her fans at the start of the slalom and it was the best that could happen to her.

They both are now having almost a month-long break. After that, on 20th of December, they both are going to a tough battle again in a French Courchevel. We can’t wait to see it!
