The anticipated release of the new iPhone XI series is for now set for the upcoming fall 2019. Even though Apple has not officially released any updates about the iPhone 11 features, rumors about a few expected features have been swirling the tech industry circles.
According to several tech enthusiasts, the new iPhone will be all about camera quality. With the new square-shaped rear camera consisting of 3 camera array, the device certainly shifts its purpose to deliver top-notch picture and video quality to its users. Some even begun to speculate whether perhaps the 3rd camera might serve as an augmented reality lense. Nevertheless, the XI series will according to the reports still not feature 5G support which is crucial for the predisposition of augmented reality.
However, as claimed by Ming-Chi Kuo who is the ultimate all-things-Apple expert, the devices that are only expected to be launched in 2020 as an upgrade to the announced iPhone 11 series, will be embedded with support for 5G.
“The key is that consumers will think that 5G is the necessary function. Therefore, iPhone models which will be sold at higher prices have to support 5G for winning more subsidies from mobile operators and consumers’ purchase intention.”
The investment in building and boosting of 5G supported devices can according to Kuo, as a result, prompt the development of augmented reality systems.

Concept #3 According to the new leaks, the iPhone 12 coming in 2020 will have a Pro Motion OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate which would be an incredible upgrade to the current displays. We also expect a major redesign coming next year so we made this concept with a smaller FaceID. We also expect another smaller iPhone to be released without a notch and an in display Touch ID and an in display fingerprint sensor. Therefore, even though tech lovers would love to see the iPhone 11 series bearing the 5G support feature, Apple will still tease us for a little bit longer and as predicted by Kuo, most likely add-up the feature in its next year release.
