It’s only been six months since Samsung Launched the Galaxy Watch Active. Now, there’s a sequel. ⌚️⌚️⌚️ If you’re thinking that’s weird, you’re not alone. It’s not common for tech products to release an upgrade the same year as the original, but it has been known to happen. This upgrade, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2, costs $80 more than its predecessor — but it might be worth it. That $80 buys you a new ECG, improved heart rate and an accelerometer, there's an LTE option (price pending) and the spinning outer dial that we loved on older Galaxy watches. Even that cover dial has been upgraded: the bezel of the watch is now equipped with haptic touch controls, which give just enough feedback to make the spinning mechanic feel, well, “real.” One of the features, although still in the hardware, isn’t quite ready yet. The watch’s ECG is still waiting on FDA clearance, and isn’t active on the watch just yet. Still, the watch now has double the LEDs for the optical heart-rate monitor, and has a more sensitive accelerometer, giving it some major chops as a fitness upgrade. There’s also an incoming LTE version, built-in Google Translate and more. Notably, the interface will allow users to more smoothly operate the device and customize their desktop preferences, for instance, for most used applications. The new My Style feature will enable the users to customize the watch to match their outfit which brings out a lot more versatility in comparison with the first generation of Galaxy Watch.
Likewise, the device will have embedded a new and improved ECG which will better the monitoring of heart rate and accelerometer. Thanks to the ECG sensor, the device will be able to fully minor and track the heart rate and detect any potential heart contractions or issues.
In addition, the device comes up with completely brand new fitness and health-related features thanks to which the user will be able to track the progress in his or her overall physique, including diet, exercising, sleep or mental health. The device will also serve as a great exercise tracker with 39 workouts recognition system from which 7 of them can be sensed automatically.
“With Galaxy Watch Active2, we have created a device that will enable consumers to take control of their health and wellness, and seamlessly flow between their devices and connect across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem, making their lives easier and better.”
As we are slowly approaching the fall season during which we usually tend to abandon our summer fitness regiments, the Galaxy Watch Active2 comes in as a great motivation push to keep our health on track.
