The famous and great English singer Ed Sheeran won not one, but TWO awards at this year’s Grammys! He has won an award for the Best Pop Vocal Album (Divide) and for the Best Pop Solo Performance (Shape of You).
Ed Sheeran’s third studio album, Divide, has defeated nominees like Imagine Dragons and their really great album Evolve, Coldplay’s Kaleidoscope EP, Lana Del Rey’s Lust For Life, Kesha’s Rainbow and Lady Gaga’s Joanne. The album debuted at No. 1 in the UK, selling more than 600,000 units in the first week, making it fastest-selling album by a male artist. The album also found its place in the top ranks in many charts in 14 countries, from the United States to Australia.
Divide’s single and one of Ed Sheeran’s best songs ever, Shape of You, had a tough fight against P!NK’s What About Us, Lady Gaga’s Million Reasons, Kesha’s Praying and Kelly Clarkson’s Love So Soft. Since its release, the song has peaked at No. 1 on a singles charts of 44 countries, it became the Best Performing Song of 2017 and in September of 2017, it became the most streamed song on Spotify with over a billion streams.
