The FIFA World Cup 2018 is only 79 days away from us! Like every other HUGE competition, it must have its own official timekeeper. So, who is this year’s world cup timekeeper? Well, of course it’s the one and only HUBLOT!
Hublot being an official timekeeper means they have to promote the world cup and while doing that, they are also promoting their brand.
Their way of promoting is really good and it’s working very well! So, you’re asking what did Hublot do? They’ve organized a special football match called “A Match of Friendship”. The game was really unique thanks to players who played.
There were two teams, one had Diego Maradona for a coach and the other one had José Mourinho.
In both of these teams there were very special people. Maradona’s team was composed of Tino Asprilla, Roberto Carlos, Hernan Crespo, FIFA president Gianni Infantino, Christian Karembeu, Marco Materazzi, Gaizka Mendieta, Lazio’s team manager Angelo Peruzzi and a former French football player David Trezeguet.
On the other side of the pitch was Mourinho’s team which was composed of the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt, Vitor Baía, Stéphane Chapuisat, Marcel Desailly, Damien Duff, Robbie Keane, Patrick Kluivert, a French artist who worked with Hublot before Richard Orlinski and a retired football player Alexey Smertin.
The match was also a live demonstration of new Hublot’s watch named Big Band Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The referee wore them the whole time until the end of the game and showed the functions of this beautiful innovative watch.
Beautiful, right? We are very glad to have Hublot as a timekeeper of the world cup and we can’t wait for other events they will organize!
