Daniel Ricciardo managed to set a new lap record in Monaco Grand Prix Practice 1! Thanks to his great skills, he overtook his teammate Max Verstappen who ended up in second place. Red Bull Racing, in which both of these talents are is already showing the world what they can do and we doubt this is the end.
Ricciardo posted a 1:12:126 on new F1’s hypersoft tires that are being used this year. That is an amazing time and by achieving a new lap record he beat the one Kimi Raikkonen set last year. The time of 2017’s lap record was 1:12:178.
By looking at the numbers it seems like it was a close call but even one hundredth can change everything when it comes to F1.
Daniel Ricciardo holds a praiseworthy record of 28 podiums in F1 and he will definitely want to astound the fans. We are looking forward to that.
In his career, he’s got two wins on his record, one by winning the Formula Renault 2.0 WEC in 2008 and the second one by winning the British Formula 3 in 2009.
This season, he’s got 47 points and he is placed in 5th place. That will change soon to better numbers. We wish Ricciardo a great season!
