Not every day McLaren reveals a new car of theirs but when they do, it’s worth the time. This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed was a great opportunity for the brand. The Goodwood is one of the most known and popular car festivals and many cars enthusiasts are visiting the festival every year to see the beautifully designed and powerful machines.
McLaren used the opportunity and their brand new model 600LT made a global debut at the festival. It’s a light-weight, track-focused supercar which is considered a performance version of the 570S. The new one is 96 kilograms lighter than the standard version and the brand is offering the car in coupe format. Don’t worry, knowing McLaren a 600LT Spyder will probably happen too.
Because it’s a performance version of the 570S, the power must be stronger, right? Well, we’ve got good news for all next owners. The car will be powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with a top-exit exhaust system, meaning that the engine will breathe more freely. With the power of 600 HP, the car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour in a remarkable 8.2 seconds! The top speed is said to be 328 kilometers per hour, which is more than a lot.
The 600LT is offered at a starting price of GBP 185,500 in the U.K., so if you’ve got enough money to buy one, do it now and don’t think about it for too long because the production is set to last for only one year. That means the car will become extremely rare and owning it will make you ‘one of the few’.
