Carrie Fisher Will Make Her Final Debut in Star Wars Episode IX

The official reps of Star Wars franchise took to Twitter to announce the cast of its final sequel, Episode IX. Under the leadership of producer J.J. Abrams, the Episode IX will become the final installment of the Skywalker saga.

Some of the cast names from the released list include actors like Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver or Lupita Nyong’o and to a great surprise also the late actress Carrie Fisher who portrayed the notorious Princess Leia.

Sadly, Carrie passed away a couple of years ago which left fans gloomed about the possible appearance of her character Princess Leia in the movie franchise ever again. However, according to Abrams, the fans may remain tranquil since Carrie will, after all, appear in the movie thanks to a comprisal of unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

The final Episode IX of Star Wars will be therefore fully complete and in a way even pay a tribute to the work of the late and marvelous actress Carrie Fisher. The filming will begin at London’s Pinewood Studios on the 1st of August.
