Have you ever had a specially personalized gear collection designed by Virgil Abloh and Nike? Not yet, right? Well, you would either have to pay a fortune and beg both brands’ to death or be an incredibly talented and well-achieved athlete like Serena Williams. Serena has been known for smashing her opponents on the court but not only in an actual match but also in the fashion choices that made her become the best dressed female tennis player of all times.
That is probably the main reason why for her upcoming U.S. Open tournament, the popular brand of many famous athletes Nike and iconic Off-White designer Virgil Abloh partnered up for a small-scale collection personally created for Serena.
When designing the limited edition collection of William’s dress, jacket and two variations of Nike The Ten sneakers, Virgil Abloh had revisited some of Serena’s most iconic court looks from her 2002 U.S. Open catsuit styling to her latest 2018 French Open looks. To Virgil, Serena portrays a great inspiration of how female tennis players can remain stylish and show off their sense of style even on the court.
“When I was thinking about outfits for Serena, I was thinking about her playing the game and her aesthetic while she is. Also about the confidence that’s needed while playing at the top level of tennis.”
Virgil Abloh has without a doubt landed yet another amazing collaboration to Off-White. Serena looks absolutely stunning in the Off-White x Nike collab and the gear will for sure bring her the confidence she needs for the conquering of the upcoming U.S. Open.
The limited edition Serena Williams collection by Off-White x Nike is now available on Nike’s website and also selected Nike retailers.
