New York Magazine visited Gloria Laura Vanderbiltan legendary American artist, author, actress, fashion designer, heiress, and socialite, in her bright and chic Upper East Side Home that is mainly decorated by colorful paintings collected throughout style icon’s life.

What is beautiful to me, may not be beautiful someone else. I do have a lot of fantasy and imagination. It certainly is what inspires me.

I’ve never painted before, it’s short on paper and the theme of it it’s all romance and happiness, says Vanderbilt about her longing-theme paintings.

Gloria, who has been an artist for decades, is now accustoming herself to being one in the age of Instagram. The 93-year-old socialite joined the social media platform on June 2017, and with a bit of help from her son, Anderson Cooper has been populating her personal account, as well as an adjacent studio account, with colorful, impressionistic works.
